Evening vs Morning vs VIP — which safari fits you?

The evening safari is the classic: dunes at golden hour, sunset photos, then the full camp evening with dinner and shows. If you'd rather ride at cooler sunrise hours and be back in the city by lunch, take the morning desert safari. If the camp matters more to you than the drive, the VIP desert safari upgrades your seating and dinner service.

Short on time? The 4-hour private Sunset Safari (AED 600 per car) covers dune bashing and the sunset stop, skipping the camp evening.

Best time for a desert safari in Dubai

The desert is at its best from October to April, when evenings are cool enough for the camp to feel comfortable rather than hot. Summer safaris (May–September) still run daily — dune bashing happens near sunset when the heat breaks, and dinner is after dark.

• Winter (Nov–Feb): evenings drop to 12–18°C at the camp — bring a light jacket.
• Sunset time shifts from about 5:30pm in December to 7:10pm in June; your pickup time moves with it.
• Ramadan & public holidays: tours run, but camps can be busier — book a day or two ahead.

What to wear and bring

• Light, comfortable clothes; long sleeves are handy against sun and evening chill.
• Closed-toe shoes beat sandals for sandboarding and quad rides — sand gets hot.
• Sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat for the pre-sunset dunes.
• A light jacket in winter — the temperature falls fast after dark.
• Your phone or camera: the sunset stop is built into every tour, and camp photos with Arabic dress are included.

Leave at the hotel: loose scarves and flip-flops for the dune bashing leg — everything bounces. Water is provided at the camp.

Dune bashing — what it feels like, and how we keep it safe

Dune bashing is 30–35 minutes of controlled sliding, climbing and dropping across the high red dunes in a 4×4. It's a roller-coaster you're strapped into with a professional desert driver — thrilling, bumpy, and over before you want it to be.

• All vehicles are specially customised for the Arabian Desert and carry recovery gear.
• A recovery team is on standby throughout, and our staff are trained in first aid.
• Seatbelts on, cameras secured — your driver briefs you before the first dune.
• Not recommended for pregnant guests, infants, or anyone with back, neck or heart conditions — the camp evening is still open to you while your group rides.

Inside the Bedouin-style camp

After the dunes, the convoy arrives at a base camp set among the sands — carpets, low seating, and food stations under open sky. Henna artists work one side of the camp; the dress-up station lends traditional Arabic outfits for photos.

Dinner is a BBQ spread with both veg and non-veg options (tell us about allergies when you book). As plates fill, the stage lights up: belly dance, the spinning tanoura, and a fire show to close the night before the drive home.

Pickup, timing & logistics

• Pickup and drop-off from any Dubai address — hotel or home — is included in every package.
• One 4×4 seats up to 7 guests; private cars are exclusively yours on the Sunset and Private Pickup packages.
• The evening tour runs about 6 hours door to door; exact pickup time is confirmed on WhatsApp when you book.
• Quad bike and dune buggy add-ons are self-drive from age 16 with a government ID — no driving licence needed. Kids 6+ can ride small quads in a fenced area.
